The Blue Dot Network (BDN), in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the OECD Global Relations and Cooperation Directorate, will convene Promoting Quality Infrastructure in Southeast Asia on 15 October 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. The event will bring together government leaders, investors, multilateral development banks and infrastructure experts to explore how quality infrastructure can strengthen resilience, support sustainable growth and unlock greater private investment across the region.
Southeast Asia faces an infrastructure financing gap estimated at US $210 billion annually through 2030, underscoring the need to mobilise private and institutional capital alongside public investment. While investor interest in sustainable infrastructure continues to grow, many projects struggle to attract financing due to challenges related to project preparation, regulatory certainty and risk management.
The discussion will focus on building a stronger pipeline of investable infrastructure projects and highlighting the role of international quality standards in improving investor confidence. Participants will examine practical approaches to project preparation, investment readiness and risk mitigation, while showcasing regional infrastructure initiatives, including Blue Dot Network-certified projects.
A key focus of the event will be the Blue Dot Network certification framework, which translates internationally recognised quality infrastructure principles into project-level criteria. By promoting transparency, resilience, sustainability and effective governance, the framework provides a trusted signal to investors and supports the mobilisation of finance for infrastructure that delivers long-term economic and social value.
Through dialogue between governments, investors and development partners, the event will explore how quality infrastructure can help Southeast Asia strengthen competitiveness, advance sustainable development objectives and meet the region's growing infrastructure needs.
